Emissions Reporting - Mandatory Use of SPARS in 2013

The Iowa DNR has advised us of plans to implement mandatory electronic emissions inventory reporting in 2013. This would impact the 2012 and subsequent minor source emissions inventory reports. After the policy is implemented, all reporting will be done using the SPARS system and the Iowa DNR will no longer accept spread sheets or hard copy reports. In 2009, more than 60% of the emissions inventories were submitted through SPARS.
The DNR is providing this advance notice so stakeholders can take advantage of free SPARS training classes.
The next SPARS training classes will be held April 6, 7, and 8, 2010, at the DNR Air Quality offices, located at 7900 Hickman Road, Windsor Heights, IA. Classes will be held annually each spring.
